Will Obamamania Bring Back Tourism To Kenya?

Obamamania (it felt like just yesterday that I was reveling in Cartermania) may possibly or might not be fueling a resurgence of journey to Kenya. Extended a favorite for tourists to Africa, the violence subsequent the 2007 elections all but ground Kenya’s tourism market into the floor, so it’s no shock Kenyan’s are hoping that Obama’s election will assist provide back again readers, even if only to the little village of Kogelo, Obama’s father’s hometown.

But, as the New York Periods reports, Kogelo is probably a minor way too much off-the-overwhelmed-route for the everyday traveler, “It’s rather challenging to get there. You’d have to fly to Kisumu, which is not terribly near to anything at all, and then you have to generate forty miles just to see a village.” Just a village? How numerous villages in Africa can you go to and operate into Obama’s action-grandmother and pay a visit to an Obama-centric museum all in just one day?
