Free Things to do in the Bay Area of California

Image
*by Meesh Hi y’all, I’m Meesh from Right Where I Left Off! My hometown is technically San Jose, CA, but I generally call all of the Bay Area my home town. Growing up, my parents would take us out to explore new parts ranging from the beautiful beaches in Santa Cruz to wonderful hiking spots in the North Bay. Today I’m going to share some of my top spots to visit in the Bay Area, specifically, my favorite Bay Area beaches, museums, and hikes.  Best Free Museums in the Bay Area If you’ve ever been to San Francisco, you know that there are more museums than you can count, let alone visit while on vacation. A Weekend in Lake Placid and the Adirondack High Peaks

Image
Just off the Adirondack Northway (I-87) in upstate New York, a back road winds through spectacular mountain passes, along scenic rivers, and past towns and villages just begging to be explored. Here’s a little overview of what I’d consider a perfect weekend itinerary, complete with beautiful day hikes, great food, a visit with wolves, and one of the most beautiful lodging options in the area. I think a weekend in the Adirondacks is exactly what you’ve been waiting for. Day 1: Exploring Keene, New York Start your weekend by embracing the outdoors in the town of Keene. Lo...

Please welcome Becky from Trekking with Becky as she takes us on a little tour of Kapuskasing, Ontario. I’ve been reading Becky’s blog for a while now, and am always so inspired by her journeys around the world. No matter how far you travel, though – it’s lovely to come back home! Exploring Kapuskasing, Ontario -by Becky Osawa When I tell people that I’m originally from a small town in northern Ontario, Canada, I usually get asked if I’m from Barrie, which is a little north of Toronto. When I say that I’m from northern Ontario, I really mean NORTH…if you drive pretty much non-stop north of Toronto for about 9 hours, you’ll reach my small hometown, Kapuskasing (Kah-pus-kay-sing) in Canada. Kapuskasing, Canada It’s RARE to even come across Torontonians who have heard of Kapuskasing since it’s s...
