Checking In to the Atlantis The Palm

Image
Ever since growing up watching the Mary-Kate and Ashley travel films, I have longed for the day I could stay at The Atlantis . Granted, the film was made at the first Atlantis (in the Bahamas), but nonetheless my check-in to The Atlantis Dubai felt long overdue. On previous stopovers to Dubai I have gone out of my way to visit the Atlantis. My first time in Dubai I made a special trip over to experience the Aquaventure Waterpark ( circa 2013 ) and just a couple of years ago in 2017 revisited the property with my little brother in tow to explore the Lost Chambers Aquarium. For certain this is an attraction in itself when visiting Dubai, but to stay at the Atlantis the Palm was an entirely different experience. What is Included in your Stay One of the biggest draw cards to staying at the Atlantis the Palm is the exclusivity offered to in-house guests. There are a number of areas at the Atlantis for in-house guests only, including the impressive lobby and private bea...

An English Countryside Escape at Monkey Island Estate

Image
Monkey Island Estate Perhaps the best-kept secret of the English countryside , Monkey Island Estate can be reached in just 20 minutes car ride from London Heathrow airport. Having visited London more times than I can count, I wanted to find a countryside escape for my weekend visit as I had just 48 hours between flights. I arrived in London on a Saturday evening and would spend the Sunday and Monday enjoying the English countryside. Monkey Island Estate is located near the town of Bray, a small village with a lot of character. The nearest city is popular Windsor, just a further 20 minutes drive from Bray and home to the famous Windsor castle, official residence of the Queen. The hotel is located on an island on the River Thames which can be accessed by a footbridge. Despite being so close to the airport, the estate feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of London. This makes for the perfect weekend escape from the city or short stopover for those who would prefe...

Checking in to the world’s “Best Boutique Hotel” – Saffire Freycinet

Image
When you’re invited to check in to the world’s “Best Boutique Hotel”, it’s an offer you simply don’t refuse. As a guest of Tourism Tasmania , I visited the prestigious Saffire Freycinet to see just why this 20-room uber luxe hotel has been dubbed the best of the best. Upon arrival, I quickly discovered that none of this stay – an all too short 48 hours – will be anything like what I have experienced before. After making a career out of visiting the world’s most luxurious resorts and visiting over 120 of them, I was convinced prior to my arrival that I had in some respect, ‘seen it all’. How wrong I was. As we (I was visiting with my partner in tow) pulled into the driveway of the exclusive resort, I noticed a polite reminder to my left that the property was reserved for “hotel guests only”, making this an even more exclusive property than most hotels I had visited in this calibre. Many luxury properties ma...
